We need
33 state senators to stop the filibuster and deliver property-tax relief.
“You’ll never, ever, get property tax relief unless we have 33 who have the courage to embrace reform! It’s your job to get them there!”
Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.
The math of reform
Why 33?
Nebraska has one legislature with 49 senators. A simple majority is not enough when a small group can block the vote.
- A filibuster stops the vote.
Opponents can keep talking until a bill dies without a vote.
- It takes 33 to end it.
Two-thirds of the senators, 33 of 49, must vote to stop the filibuster.
- It already happened.
Last session, a filibuster blocked Governor Pillen’s tax-reform plan.
